The scope of services undertaken to date has included:

• Stage 1 and 2 development appraisals, including desk studies, intrusive investigations to assess near surface ground conditions, the nature and extent of mine workings, and the location of buried mine entries
• Infrastructure assessment, which included:
  –  Sourcing, sizing, and allocation of services for the site
  –  Foul drainage plan, including a SUDS system
  –  Options for the treatment of mine-water on site
  –  A waste strategy for the site
• Production of masterplan documents in association with other specialist consultants. These have included a range of information from site history and ground conditions to the proposed development with utilities and transport link information

• Drainage Impact Assessment and culvert-opening feasibility study
• Engineering and Ecological Constraints Assessment
• Outline Drainage Strategy
• Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment
• Digital 3D ground models and mining constraints assessment
• Geo-Environmental Baseline report
• Preliminary Ecological Appraisal
• Bat Survey Report
• Habitats Regulation Appraisal

The site was successfully sold to developers in 2014, during which time IKM assisted the client in the rationalisation and reduction in abnormal costs.

A PPP application was submitted in 2016 for the site in South East Edinburgh.  IKM played an integral role in the evolution of the masterplan, and in supporting the planning application; work which included numerous technical assessments and reports, as well as the co-ordination and production of the supporting Environmental Statement.  IKM are currently providing ongoing support during PPP determination.
