THE CHALLENGE
IKM was appointed by TRC Ltd in 2009 to contribute to an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of a proposed development at Tipner. The Ground Conditions chapter of the Environmental Statement (ES), which reports the findings of the EIA, was prepared by IKM as part of a suite of documents to accompany the application for planning permission.
THE SOLUTION
The work was undertaken in four main Phases and included: design, supervision and management of a ground investigation; detailed quantitative risk assessment; remediation options appraisal; remedial design; consultation with the planning consultant, local authority and regulator; and project management. The works culminated in the production of the ES document.
