Survey work included a Phase 1 Habitat survey, protected species walkover survey and a National Vegetation Classification (NVC) botanical survey.  The offsetting report, which followed Defra’s code of practice, suggested options for ecological offsetting in the local area if deemed appropriate.  In consultation with the Council, IKM produced a Habitat Management Plan for an area of valuable grassland adjacent to the construction site to increase the value of the grassland and encourage wetland birds.  An ECoW was also provided for works in the vicinity of a bat roost.
